A powerful night at the opening of the Palestinian Paintings exhibition at the Cultúrlann on Friday night.
The Palestinian Paintings, a series of works started in 2017 to address the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Because of belonging to and growing up in Israel, Zohar had a familiar position to witness the Six Day War of 1967 and the subsequent occupation of the territories and the ongoing and increasing displacement of Palestinian citizens.
Exhibition of Palestinian paintings by Zohar available to view on the top floor of Aonach Mhacha until 1st November and will leave to continue its tour of Ireland.
A special thanks to our guest speakers, Eyad S. Mashal, our excellent Palestinian comrade who spoke movingly about his homeland, to Dermot Kelly from IPSC Armagh, to Shannon Ní Chleirígh our Oifigeach Forbartha Ealaíne and to Joseph O Neill from Interfaith Ireland, to Máire Ni Phronntaigh for the catering and to Fra Hughes from Palestinian Aid.
