SnaG 2022 – Chinese Cultural Ceremony

China is the most populated country in the world with a current population of more than 1.4 billion people. China is one of the world’s most ancient civilizations with a culture focussed on philosophy, virtue, etiquette, and cherished traditions. Chinese traditions and festivals are also celebrated and practiced by people around the world. Chinese language, politics, philosophy, architecture, music, dance, literature, martial arts, cuisine, visual arts, ceramics, religion, business acumen and history now have a global influence.

On Saturday 5th March, CAIRDE TEO hosted a performance event by The Confucius Institute in the beautiful surroundings of Cultúrlann Aonach Mhacha at The Shambles. It was a terrific day of Traditional Chinese music and tea-making as well as an educational programme of activities that was suitable for all the family. The Armagh rhymers also gave a taste of our own music and traditions.

Thanks to the Confucius Institute at Ulster University and The Armagh Rhymers!
